The 12th “Ichihara Lakeside Museum Children's Art Exhibition” is held with picture book artist Ryoji Arai as the guest artist. and exhibit artworks submitted by children in Ichihara City.

Ryoji Arai

He was born in Yamagata Prefecture in 1956. He won the JBBY Award for “Taiyo Organ”, the Sankei Juvenile Literature Publishing Culture Award Grand Prize for “Asa ni Mita de Mado wo Akimasu yo”, and the Japan Picture Book Award for “Kyou wa Sora ni Marutsutsuki”. He was the artistic director of the “Michino Okuno Art Festival Yamagata Biennale” until 2018, and his exhibition “newborn Ryoji Arai: Always Going Where I Don't Know I’m Going” is currently touring to museums nationwide.
